No shocking result in a game in Cairo where second ranked Egyptian Al Ahly (4-1) defeated 5th ranked Guinean SLAC (1-4) 80-70. They outrebounded SLAC 39-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. Al Ahly players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Center Omar Oraby (218-1991, college: USC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Guard Ehab Amin (193-1995, college: Oregon) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American-American guard Mike Nwabuzor (188-1996, college: NMHU) replied with 19 points and 4 assists and Mambourou Mara (194-2003) added 16 points in the effort for SLAC. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending Egyptian champion maintains second position with 4-1 record having just one point less than leader P.Luanda. SLAC at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with City Oilers.
