The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Egyptian Al Ahly (4-1) on the court of top-ranked Angolan P.Luanda on Friday night. Visitors were edged by P.Luanda 91-90. It was a key game for the top position in the league. P.Luanda shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Portuguese-Angolan Carlos Morais (192-1985) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Point guard Childe Dundao (172-1998) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. New Zealand Corey Webster (188-1988, college: Lambuth) produced 22 points and 8 assists and South Sudanese-American Nuni Omot (206-1994, college: Baylor) added 25 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. P.Luanda (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending Angolan champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Defending Egyptian champion Al Ahly keeps the second place with one game lost.
