Regular Season Round 7: NW Eagles - EC Windbreakers 50-68

The biggest surprise of round 7 was guest Windbreakers' (#5) easy road victory over desperated Eagles (0-5) 68-50 on Friday evening. Windbreakers held Eagles to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Eagles 52-33 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Julian Wright (196-1990) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Ridwaan Jobson (180-1991) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Thapelo Mkhatshwa (185-1996) produced 22 points and forward Nceba Mamabolo added 4 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Windbreakers maintains fifth place with 1-4 record. It was Eagles' fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost.
