Regular Season Round 12: KIU Rangers - JKL Dolphins 50-73

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: JKL Dolphins (#1) and KIU Rangers (#2). KIU Rangers were smashed at home by 23 points 50-73 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of KIU Rangers. JKL Dolphins forced 26 KIU Rangers turnovers and outrebounded them 64-44 including a 29-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Kenyan center Taudencia Oluoch (189-1995, college: ACU) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 23 rebounds. The former international power forward Hope Akello (183-1997) chipped in 6 points and 15 rebounds. Four JKL Dolphins players scored in double figures. JKL Dolphins' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and guard Perus Nyamwenge added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively. JKL Dolphins (13-0) have an impressive 13-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 13 victories in a row. KIU Rangers at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with UCU Ladies. JKL Dolphins' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala KCCA Leopards.
