Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Kampala: KIU Rangers (#2) and Angels (#6). Angels were defeated at home 66-70 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. KIU Rangers shot 20 for 29 from the free-throw line, while Angels only scored four points from the stripe. KIU Rangers forced 25 Angels turnovers. The winners were led by guard Ninette Uwineza who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) supported her with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points and 18 rebounds by Susan Amito (-1988) did not help to save the game for Angels. Elizabeth Akol (-1993) added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. KIU Rangers have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-1 record having just one point less than leader JKL Dolphins. Angels at the other side keep the sixth place with five games lost. KIU Rangers' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala JKL Dolphins.
