The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Angolan P.Luanda as it allowed them to take a leadership position. P.Luanda smashed 6th ranked South Sudanese Cobra at home 92-56. P.Luanda dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Cobra's 30 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. P.Luanda forced 26 Cobra turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Cobra's players. The best player for the winners was forward Aboubakar Gakou (201-1997) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Center Yanick Moreira (208-1991, college: SMU, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 14 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four P.Luanda players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-South Sudanese guard Padiet Wang (193-1998, college: UCCS) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and Australian-South Sudanese power forward Mayan Kiir (206-1998, college: CBC) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Zamalek. Cobra at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Cape Town T.. Cobra will play next round against strong Tigers trying to get back on the winning streak. P.Luanda will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked FAP at home.
