Regular Season Round 5: FAP - Fukash 77-60

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Cameroonian FAP as it allowed them to take a leadership position. FAP defeated 4th placed DR Congolese Fukash at home 77-60. It was a key game for the top position in the league. FAP forced 25 Fukash turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when FAP made 8 blocks. 27 personal fouls committed by Fukash helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Cape Verdean-Portuguese forward Joel Almeida (195-1985, college: Brockport St., agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 23 points and 4 steals for the winners and American forward Deshaun Morman (193-1994, college: Towson) chipped in 13 points. Forward Rolly Fula (198-1993) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and Chris Mpaka (-2003) scored 5 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Zamalek and P.Luanda. Fukash at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with Cobra and Cape Town T.. Fukash will play next round against Cobra trying to get back on the winning streak. FAP will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Tigers in Cape Town.
