The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of KIU Rangers (4-1) in Kampala on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by fifth ranked UCU Ladies (4-1) 68-67. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of KIU Rangers. UCU Ladies forced 22 KIU Rangers turnovers and outrebounded them 62-33 including a 26-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Rose Akon (-2000) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 26 rebounds for the winners and Hajara Najjuko (-1998) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. UCU Ladies' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and guard Ninette Uwineza scored 1 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals. Four KIU Rangers players scored in double figures. UCU Ladies have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated KIU Rangers.
