SLAC used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from 90-74 on Saturday night. SLAC shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when SLAC made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Chris Crawford (193-1992, college: Memphis) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Nigerian Christopher Obekpa (206-1993, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 13 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for the winning side. Five SLAC players scored in double figures. British-Canadian forward Jermel Kennedy (201-1989, college: Lander) came up with 9 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Nigerian-American guard Randy Onwuasor (190-1995, college: LSU) added 13 points respectively for Fer.Beira in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SLAC will meet AS Sale (#4) on the road in the next round. Fer.Beira will play against REG and hope to win that game.
