Rwandan REG edged Guinean SLAC in Kigali 83-81. The best player for the winners was American guard Cleveland Thomas (192-1993, college: WKU, agency: Slash Sports) who scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Dieudonne Ndayisaba (203-1996) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. REG's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Nigerian Christopher Obekpa (206-1993, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and American guard Chris Crawford (193-1992, college: Memphis) added 20 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Four REG and five SLAC players scored in double figures. SLAC will play next round against strong Fer.Beira trying to get back on the winning streak. REG will try to continue on its current victory against DUC Dakar on the road.
