Rwandan REG defeated Moroccan AS Sale in Kigali 91-87. REG looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Cleveland Thomas (192-1993, college: WKU, agency: Slash Sports) stepped up and scored 26 points and 7 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Anthony Walker (206-1993, college: UT Arlington) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. Walker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-1991, college: Maryland) responded with 32 points and center Soufiane Kourdou (211-1985) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. AS Sale will play next round against Fer.Beira trying to get back on the winning streak. REG will try to continue on its current victory against SLAC in Conakry.
