Dar City Basketball Team (NBL) signed 31-year old Egyptian international center Anas Mahmoud (214cm-1995, college: Louisville). He moved there from Al Ittihad Alexandria in Egyptian Superleague where he played this season. In 22 games he had 15.0ppg, 9.5rpg (#3 in the league), 3.5apg and 2.5bpg. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. They also played in the Supercup final. 2025-26 was a great season as he was voted Afrobasket.com All-Egyptian League Domestic Player of the Year, Afrobasket.com All-Egyptian League Defensive Player of the Year and Afrobasket.com All-Egyptian League Player of the Year.
Mahmoud has been a member of the Egyptian international program for several years. He has played for the Egyptian senior team since 2013 and previously for the Under 17 National Team in 2012.
Mahmoud also represented Egypt at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in Piraeus (Greece) two years ago.
He has played professionally in Libya (Al Ahly Tripoli) and also during the NBA Summer League (Toronto Raptors).
Mahmoud won the Libyan League championship title in 2024.
He graduated from the University of Louisville in 2018 and is currently in his eighth season as a professional player.
