Defending champion Dar City Basketball Team (NBL) has signed 26-year-old American 206cm power forward Makhi Mitchell (college: Arkansas). It marks his return to Dar City, where he previously played. Mitchell most recently played for Motor City Cruise (NBA G League) in the U.S., averaging 5.2ppg, 4.1rpg, and 1.3bpg in 11 games this season. He also had stints with the Celtics in the NBA G League and briefly played for Dar City Basketball Team.
Mitchell has played professionally in Mexico for teams such as Abejas, Astros, and Apaches, as well as in the United Kingdom.
Among many awards, he won the Mexican CIBACOPA championship title in 2025. He received the Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LBE Player of the Year award and the Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LBE Defensive Player of the Year award in 2025.
Mitchell graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2024 and is currently in his second season in pro basketball. He has also played for other colleges such as the University of Rhode Island and the University of Maryland.
