Nairobi City Thunder (Premier League) signed 28-year old American center Josh Nzeakor (203cm-105kg-1997, college: Lamar). He has a Nigerian passport as well. He is the second foreign player in the roster, with USA Nuradin Aden signing earlier. Nzeakor recently played at Bashkimi in the Kosovan Superliga, where he recorded 5 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal in one game last season. Prior to that, he played for Hapoel Safed Galil in the Israeli league.
He is quite an experienced player. Nzeakor has played in ten different countries on four different continents (Europe, Latin America, Africa, and North America). He has played professionally in Argentina (Atenas and Estudiantes Concordia), France (Quimper UJAP), Germany, Israel, Mexico (Correcaminos and Ostioneros de Guaymas), NBA G League (Santa Cruz Warriors, Texas Legends, Westchester Knicks, Memphis Hustle, and Birmingham Squadron), Mali (Police), Guinea (Seydou Legacy Athletique Club Conakry), and The Basketball Tournament (Ex Pats, Purple Nzeakorarts, and Run DFW).
He played in the final of Liga Unike in 2025, among many awards. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Kosovo League Honorable Mention in 2025.
Nzeakor graduated from Lamar University in 2019 and is currently in his seventh season as a professional player.
