Defending champion Al Ahly Cairo (Superleague) strengthened their roster with the addition of 28-year-old American 196cm guard Tony Carr (college: Penn State, agency: The Crew A.M.). He started the season at Sagesse in Lebanese DLBL. In four games, he recorded very impressive stats: 16.0ppg, 7.0rpg, and 10.0apg. He also played 2 games in the West Asia Super League where he averaged 11.0ppg, 3.0rpg, and 4.5apg. Last season, he played at Al-Manama (Premier League) in the Bahrain league.
In 2018, he was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans (NBA) in the second round (51st overall). He graduated from Pennsylvania State University, and this is his eighth season in pro basketball.
Carr is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career, he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia, and North America) in nine different countries. He has played professionally in Bahrain, Canada (Rattlers), Denmark (Bakken Bears), Israel (Hapoel Gilboa Galil), Italy (Cantu and Torino), Kuwait (Kuwait), Russia (Parma-Pari), and NBA G League (Erie BH).
Among many awards, he played in the final of the Arab Club Championship in 2025. Carr was voted to the Asia-Basket.com Arab Club Championship Honorable Mention in 2025.
