Defending champion JCA Abidjan (National 1) signed 31-year-old American 188cm guard Jovan Mooring (college: UNLV). He last played for Blazers in the Ugandan NBL league. In two Basketball Africa League games, he averaged 14.5ppg, 3.0rpg, and 1.0apg last season. Mooring also played for Blue Soldiers (D2) in the South African league.
In 2018, he was selected by the Grand Rapids Drive (G-League) in the first round (13th overall) of the draft.
Mooring graduated from the University of Nevada - Las Vegas, and it is his eighth season in professional basketball.
He is a very experienced player. Mooring has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Africa and of course North America). He has played professionally in Georgia (Kutaisi), South Africa, NBA G League (Santa Cruz Warriors, Noblesville Boom and Grand Rapids Gold), North Macedonia (KK TFT Skopje) and The Basketball Tournament (Team Gibson).
Among many awards he received, the NJCAA D2 Player of the Year award and NJCAA D2 All-Tournament Team back in 2016.
Mooring attended a camp at Eurobasket Summer League before pursuing a career in pro basketball. He also played for colleges such as South Suburban College and Lamar State College.
