In the 2026 Road to BAL, the Johannesburg Giants edged Dar City Basketball Team 71–69 in a thrilling contest to secure their path toward the Africa League. Dar City started strong, taking a 21–13 lead after the first quarter and maintaining a slight advantage at halftime. However, the Giants shifted the momentum in the third quarter with a dominant 20-point performance that pushed them ahead. The fourth quarter remained tightly contested, but Johannesburg held their composure down the stretch, matching Dar City’s intensity and sealing the narrow two-point victory.
Nino Dim (2000) orchestrated the win with 21 points and Dhieu Abwok (196-G-2001, college: UTSA) brought 16. Nisre Zouzoua (188-G-1996, college: Nevada) ended up with 25 points in a loss.
