There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Second Stage in Basketball Africa League. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most shocking disappointment of round 2 was only two-point a home defeat of Gabonese Moanda BB to Ghanian Spintex 71-69. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Spintex made 7 blocks. had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and South Sudanese swingman Ruai Luak (198-2004) chipped in 15 points during the contest. Desire Mouzita responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Spintex are looking forward to face Ahly Benghazi at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Moanda BB will play against New Tech B. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Bamako. Mali host CRB lost to Ivorian JCA 85-71. notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and Mike Nuga supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Even 15 points by Bamba Diallo did not help to save the game for CRB. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. JCA will play against Kriol S. in Praia in the next round. CRB will play against ASB NG and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Praia. Cape Verdean host Kriol S. lost to DR Congolese ASB NG 85-81. The best player for the winners was Carl Ona-Embo who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. ASB NG's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Ivan Almeida produced 23 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. ASB NG will meet at home CRB in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kriol S. will play against JCA in Abidjan and hope to win that game.





Moanda BB - Spintex 69-71

Kriol S. - ASB NG 81-85

The game between Top Four teams took place in Praia. Cape Verdean host Kriol S. lost to DR Congolese ASB NG 85-81. ASB NG outrebounded Kriol S. 45-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. ASB NG looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was French-DR Congolese point guard Carl Ona-Embo (188-1989) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. Center Viny Okouo (214-1997) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Ona-Embo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. ASB NG's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Portuguese-Cape Verdean Ivan Almeida (197-1989, college: Stonehill) produced 23 points and 8 rebounds and American Dane Miller (203-1990, college: Rutgers) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Five ASB NG and four Kriol S. players scored in double figures. ASB NG will meet at home CRB in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kriol S. will play against JCA in Abidjan and hope to win that game.
