APR cruised past Rivers Hoopers in the first quarterfinal battle of the day in the Basketball Africa League. Nuni Omot (204-SF-1994, college: Baylor) came up with 21 points to pace the Rwandan team.
APR dominated in this one. They established a 24-11 lead after ten minutes. APR went on a 33-21 rally in the second frame to ensure a 57-32 halftime lead. The Rwandan powerhouse sank 26 points in the third term to boost the lead to as many as 31 points at the final break. Aliou Diarra (200-F-2001) tossed in 20 points for the winning side. Madut Akec (201-F-1999, college: Detroit) answered with 21 points for Rivers Hoopers.
