Deon Thompson gets MVP of the Week award for Basketball Africa League (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced American-Ivorian Deon Thompson (204-F/C-1988, agency: Slash Sports) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Al Ahly Tripoli and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 36-year old power forward had a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Thunder (#4, 0-3) with 28-point margin 115-87. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Al Ahly Tripoli to jump to the first place in the Basketball Africa League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Al Ahly Tripoli already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Thompson had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Al Ahly Tripoli, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of North Carolina graduate has very impressive stats this year. Thompson is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 9.3rpg) and averages solid 2.0bpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Mali forward Aliou Diarra (200-F-2001) of second-ranked APR Basketball Club Kigali. Diarra impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led APR to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked MBB (#3, 1-2) 103-81. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. APR consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 2-1 record is not bad at all. Diarra is a newcomer at APR and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Al Ahly Tripoli's star - American Jaylen Adams (188-PG-1996). Adams scored 26 points and passed 8 assists. He was another key player of Al Ahly Tripoli, helping his team with a 115-87 easy win against #4 ranked Thunder. Al Ahly Tripoli started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Adams turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Adams has a great season in Basketball Africa League. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.7apg (9th best).
