Stade welcomes back Diarra

Cartier Diarra

Defending champion Stade Malien (Ligue 1) landed 27-year old double-passport holder American 190cm point guard Cartier Diarra (college: Virginia Tech). It is actually his comeback to Stade as he has played here before. He played recently at Zornotza in Spanish Segunda FEB. But in three games he averaged just 1.7ppg last season.
He is a very experienced player. Diarra has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to four different countries on three different continents (Europe, Africa and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Luxembourg (AB Contern), South Africa (Tigers) and The Basketball Tournament (Purple Reign).
Diarra played in the final of Road to Basketball Africa League West Division Elite 16 in 2024.
He graduated from Virginia Tech University in 2021 and it is his fourth season in pro basketball. Diarra played also for University of Kansas State for 4 years.
