Fourth-ranked Cape Verdean Kriol S. (0-3) made lots of trouble for Ivorian JCA (6-0) in Abidjan on Thursday. JCA managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected easier game. JCA looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Jonathan Cisse (185-2001, college: Texas Southern) chipped in 16 points. JCA's coach used entire bench in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Portuguese-Cape Verdean Ivan Almeida (197-1989, college: Stonehill) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds and 15 assists.
An exciting game was played in Accra. Libyan Ahly Benghazi faced Ghanian Spintex. Guests from Benghazi (5-0) smashed host Spintex (3-2) 88-63. It was a good game for Sofian Hamad (204-1998) who led his team to a victory with 21 points. Marcos Knight contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. South Sudanese swingman Ruai Luak (198-2004) answered with 6 points and 10 rebounds for Spintex. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

It was a great evening for Bamba Diallo who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Omari Gudul with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.




Spintex - Ahly Benghazi 63-88

An exciting game was played in Accra. Libyan Ahly Benghazi faced Ghanian Spintex. Guests from Benghazi (5-0) smashed host Spintex (3-2) 88-63. Ahly Benghazi forced 22 Spintex turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Spintex's players. It was a good game for Sofian Hamad (204-1998) who led his team to a victory with 21 points. American guard Marcos Knight (191-1989, college: MTSU, agency: Slash Sports) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. South Sudanese swingman Ruai Luak (198-2004) answered with 6 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Jonathan Cisse (185-2001, college: Texas Southern) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Spintex.
