Italian-Nigerian Center Peter Olisemeka (207-C-1991) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Rivers Royal Hoopers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 17 points and 19 rebounds, while his team beat APR (#4, 2-4) 78-71. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Rivers Hoopers to consolidate first place in the Basketball Africa League. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Rivers Hoopers has a very solid 4-2 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Olisemeka had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Rivers Hoopers, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Peter Olisemeka has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 12.2rpg) and averages impressive 1.2bpg and 58.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young South Sudanese Ater Majok (210-C-1987) of U.S. Monastir. Majok had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds. Of course US Monastir cruised to a 73-62 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Rivers Hoopers (#1, 4-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. US Monastir consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team's 3-3 record is not bad at all. Majok is one of the most experienced players at US Monastir and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Rivers Hoopers' star - forward Devine Eke (203-PF-1996). Eke showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, 18 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Rivers Royal Hoopers, helping his team with a 78-71 win against #4 ranked APR. Rivers Hoopers confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Eke has a great season in Basketball Africa League. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.5rpg (3rd best).
