Mali Forward Aliou Diarra (200-F-2001) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Fath US de Rabat, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 22-year old player was the main contributor (21 points, six rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Cape Town T. (#4, 1-4) with 26-point margin 84-58. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed FUS Rabat to consolidate first place in the Basketball Africa League. FUS Rabat have a solid 5-1 record. Diarra turned to be FUS Rabat's top player in his first season with the team. Aliou Diarra has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 15.0ppg), assists (2nd best: 1.3apg) and averages impressive 2.3bpg and 68.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Aboubacar Gakou (201-F-1997) of league's second-best Atletico Petroleos de Luanda. Gakou had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for P.Luanda to edge FUS Rabat (5-1) 89-86. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Gakou is one of the most experienced players at P.Luanda and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 11.8ppg (#7). He also registered 6.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Samkelo Cele (198-G-1997) of Cape Town Tigers (#4). Cele scored 22 points. Despite Cele's great performance the Tigers lost 58-84 to #1 ranked FUS Rabat. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Cape Town T. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-4 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Cele has individually a great season in Basketball Africa League. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.6ppg (best scorer).
