Bangui rolled over Espoir in the race for BAL Elite 16. The team from Central African Republic posted an easy 71-49 win in the opener.
Espoir managed to surprise the opponents with a 14-11 run, whilst Bangui replied with a 15-13 rally in the second frame and took control of the game in the second half. They won both quarters in the second half including a final 26-10 surge.
Jean Nguepy and William Claiborne (211-F/C, college: LSUA) stepped up with 15 points each, whilst Kenny Gasana (195-G-1984, college: Boise St.) netted 9. Jarode Aworet replied with 14 points in the losing effort.
