Group BCustoms - Pythons 70-74Pythons knocked down Customs to take the first win in Group B. Pythons outrebounded Customs 61-49 including a 40-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Samuel Davidson (-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 21 rebounds and forward John Bing (198-90) who added 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Daniel Aryee (-83) with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Abdul Alhassan (-94) scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Customs players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. AS Niglec made 28-of-37 free shots (75.7 percent) during the game, while Aspac only scored nine points from the stripe. AS Niglec had a 38-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Aspac helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Nigerian forward Dele Ademola (199-89) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 21 rebounds. Nigerian Eli Dung (-94) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian center Ameh Ejeh (196-96) who recorded 5 points, 22 rebounds and 4 blocks and point guard Bernard Lougbegnon (191-93) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Cobra dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Beau Vallon's 24. Cobra forced 25 Beau Vallon turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for forward Leek Leek (198-91, college: Campbell) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Tony Anthony (-96) contributed with 29 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Cobra players scored in double figures. Timmy Adam (-87) replied with 9 points and 6 rebounds and Steven Hoareau (-99) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Beau Vallon. Beau Vallon's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win.
