The quarterfinal round of the 48th Unitel Basket season wrapped up on April 15 with all four favorites advancing to the semifinals via two-game sweeps, reinforcing the expected pecking order at the top of Angolan men's basketball. The reigning champions and regular-season winners (10-0) lived up to their billing, overwhelming Vila Clotilde in both legs of their quarterfinal series. Petro opened the tie on April 13 at the Pavilhao do ISPTEC with a commanding 99-63 rout before closing it out away from home two days later with an even more emphatic 115-90 display. Coach Sergio Valdeolmillos's depth and firepower — well-documented throughout the regular season — again proved decisive, and the tricolores move into the semifinals having yet to drop a game all campaign.
Second-seeded 1 de Agosto put on a defensive masterclass at home in Game 1, holding Ferroviario de Angola to just 43 points in a 98-43 demolition at Pavilhao Victorino Cunha on April 13. The military-affiliated club then completed the sweep on the road with a 97-56 victory, extending their margin of dominance across the series to an astonishing 96 points. The Agostinos now look every bit the contenders to dethrone Petro in the best-of-five semifinals.
Sporting Clube de Luanda navigated the all-Luanda derby against Petro de Luanda's B team in two tight games. The Leoes took Game 1 on April 13 at Pavilhao Dream Space by a 72-69 margin, then sealed the series on April 15 with a 67-62 road victory at Pavilhao ISPTEC. The two narrow margins underlined the quality of Petro's reserve squad, but Sporting's experience and composure in the clutch ultimately made the difference.
The series with the most drama saw Interclube travel to Lobito and steal Game 1 by an 81-76 margin at the Pavilhao CPPLobito on April 13 — a crucial away win that flipped home-court advantage. Back in Luanda at Pavilhao 28 de Fevereiro on April 15, the Policias closed out Casa do Pessoal do Porto do Lobito 93-86 to complete the 2-0 sweep and book their semifinal berth. CPPL's strong regular season had offered hope of an upset, but Interclube's superior postseason experience proved telling in both games.
