Division I Round 7 (Second Stage): ASA edge Vila Clotilde by three points

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Division I took place in Clotilde. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of much higher ranked Vila Clotilde (12-10) to eighth ranked ASA (6-15) 73-70 on Wednesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. ASA maintains eighth place with 6-15 record. Vila Clotilde at the other side keeps the second position with ten games lost.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Luanda: P.Luanda (#1) and Porto do Lobito (#4). P.Luanda (19-2) crushed visiting Porto do Lobito (15-6) by 56 points 118-62. P.Luanda have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 19-2 record. Porto do Lobito at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Luanda: Sporting L. (#2) and P.Luanda B (#6). P.Luanda B was defeated at home 65-74 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Sporting maintains second place with 18-4 record behind leader C.Ferroviario. P.Luanda B lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost.

Other games of round 7 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
1 De Agosto defeated Interclube in Luanda 109-104. Vila Clotilde B was beaten by Interclube B at home 77-90. Sporting L. B won against 1 De Agosto B on the opponent's court 70-65. Winless Kwanza was outscored by Akira in a home game 61-82.



Group A
P.Luanda - Porto do Lobito 118-62

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Luanda: P.Luanda (#1) and Porto do Lobito (#4). P.Luanda (19-2) crushed visiting Porto do Lobito (15-6) by 56 points 118-62. P.Luanda have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 19-2 record. Porto do Lobito at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost.

P.Luanda B - Sporting L. 65-74

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Luanda: Sporting L. (#2) and P.Luanda B (#6). P.Luanda B lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost.

Interclube - 1 De Agosto 104-109

There was no surprise in Luanda where 5th ranked Interclube (11-10) was defeated by third ranked 1 De Agosto (17-4) 109-104 on Tuesday. 1 De Agosto maintains third place with 17-4 record having just two points less than leader C.Ferroviario which they share with defeated Interclube. Loser Interclube dropped to the third position with ten games lost. They share it with 1 De Agosto B.

Vila Clotilde B - Interclube B 77-90

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked Interclube B (8-13) defeated on the road 5th ranked Vila Clotilde B (7-13) 90-77 on Wednesday. Interclube B moved-up to fourth place. Loser Vila Clotilde B dropped to the seventh position with 13 games lost.

1 De Agosto B - Sporting L. B 65-70

There was an upset in Luanda where 3rd placed 1 De Agosto B (11-10) was defeated by seventh ranked Sporting L. B (7-12) 70-65 on Wednesday. Sporting L. B moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted 1 De Agosto B keeps the third position with ten games lost. They share it with Interclube.
