Lucas comes back to Qurain

Italee Lucas

Qurain (D1) inked experienced 36-year old American (has also Angolan passport) 172cm guard Italee Lucas (college: UNC). It is actually her comeback to Qurain as she has played here before. She played most recently at Al Gharafa in Qatari D1 league.the last season at GD Inter-Clube de Luanda in Angola. She also played for Azour in Lebanese WLBL where in 14 games she recorded 12.7ppg, 6.3rpg, 4.4apg and 1.3spg. Great season indeed as she was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Third Team.
In 2011 she was drafted by Tulsa Shock (WNBA) in second round (21st overall).
The former University of North Carolina standout is in her 15th (!!!) season in pro basketball. Lucas has been regularly called to the Angolan Senior National Team since 2017.
She is a very experienced player. Lucas has quite traveled the world as her pro career brought her to nine different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America). She has played professionally in Hungary (Miskolc), Iraq (Akkad and Ghaz Al-Shamal), Israel (Hertzliya), Lebanon, Romania (Satu Mare), Spain (Hondarribia-Irun, IDK Euskotren and Girona), Rwanda (APR BBC Kigali) and Egypt (Al Ahly and Heliopolis).
Lucas won Qatari League championship title in 2024.
She is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in her extensive career, which she may end at Qurain.
