Angola have won the thriller at the Semifinals of the 2025 AfroBasket. They overcame Cameroon 74-73 with a final free throw from Aboubacar Gakou (201-F-1997). Cameroon started stronger, taking the first quarter 21–16, but Angola responded in the second frame to narrow the deficit, leaving the halftime score at 37–37. After the break, Cameroon regained momentum with a 21–15 third quarter, entering the final period ahead by six. Angola, however, stormed back in the fourth, with Bruno Fernando (207-C-1998, college: Maryland) and Selton Miguel (193-G-2000, college: Maryland) reducing the score to 69-71 before Childe Dundao (169-PG-1998) nailed a crucial three-pointer to give Angola a 72–71 lead. Miguel then added a free throw to push the margin to two, but Cameroon’s Yves Missi (212-F-2004, college: Baylor) tied the game at 73–73. Aboubacar Gakou made the final free throw at the game to bring the victory for the hosts. Selton Miguel top-scored for the winners with 17 points and Bruno Fernando notched 15. Fabien Ateba (192-G-1991) replied with 14 points in a loss and Samir Gbetkom (191-G-1998) scored 13. |
