Angola - Cape Verde 90-80

Angola held off pesky Cape Verde to make it into the semifinal stage at the 2025 AfroBasket. Childe Dundao (169-PG-1998) finished with 30 points to pace the winning side.
Angola secured a strong start to the game. The hosts posted a 24-15 lead after ten minutes. Cape Verde though matched the intensity in the second quarter. They pulled within 5 points at halftime 40-45. Cape Verde got as close as 2 points heading into the fourth period. Walter Tavares eventually gave Cape Verde a 77-75 lead with under three minutes remaining in regulation. But Angola capped the game on a 15-3 rally to seal the win. Aboubacar Gakou (201-F-1997) provided 14 points for Angola. Joel Almeida (193-SF-1985, college: Brockport St.) responded with 19 points for Cape Verde.
