Real Madrid keeps Fernando for another season

Defending champion Real Madrid (Liga Endesa) re-signed 26-year old Angolan international 207cm center Bruno Fernando (college: Maryland) for the new season. He played there last season. In 21 Liga Endesa games, he averaged 7.0ppg and 5.3rpg. He helped them win the league title. Fernando can count that season as very successful as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish League Honorable Mention. He also played 12 games in Euroleague where he had 5.0ppg and 3.0rpg. Fernando contributed to his team making it to the quarterfinals. The other teams he played for briefly were Fenerbahce (BSL) in the Turkish league and the Raptors in the NBA.
In 2019, he was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers (NBA) in the second round (34th overall). He graduated from the University of Maryland, and it will be his seventh season in pro basketball.
Fernando has been a member of the Angolan international program for several years. He has played for the Angolan senior team since 2016 and previously for the Under 19 National Team in 2017.
Fernando also represented Angola at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in Valencia (Spain) last year. During this event, he scored an average of 12 ppg and had 10 rpg.
He is a very experienced player. Fernando has played professionally in Turkey, NBA (Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, and Houston Rockets), NBA G League (College Park SkyHawks and Maine Celtics), and NBA Summer League (Boston Celtics).
He was selected to the Big Ten All-Defensive Team during his college career in 2019.
