P.Luanda sign Kendrick Ray, ex Panionios

Kendrick Ray

Defending champion Atletico Petroleos de Luanda (Division I) landed 31-year old American 188cm guard Kendrick Ray (college: KSU) for the upcoming season. He is the second import player in the roster as Egyptian Patrick Gardner signed here earlier. He played most recently at Panionios in the Greek Elite League. In 17 GBL games, he averaged 13.4ppg, 2.2rpg, and 3.8apg last season. It was a good year as he was voted League Player of the Week. The previous (2024) summer he played at Fuerza Regia (LNBP) in the Mexican league.
He is a very experienced player. He has traveled quite extensively during his pro career, playing in eleven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Latin America, Australia, and North America). Ray has played professionally in Bosnia (Igokea), France (Le Mans), Israel (Maccabi Tel Aviv), Italy (Umana Venezia), Mexico, New Zealand (Airs), Turkey (Buyukcekmece and Petkimspor), NBA (Utah Jazz), Czech Republic (Nymburk), and NBA Summer League (Boston Celtics).
In 2022, his team reached the Greek final. He won the Eurobasket.com All-Czech Republic League Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-Czech Republic League Import Player of the Year award in 2018.
Ray graduated from KSU in 2017 and it will be his 9th season in pro bball. He played for Quinnipiac University for 2 years.
