Division I Round 19 (Regular Season): Sporting L. B rolls over Kwanza by 37 points

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Division I. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game between seventh ranked Sporting L. B (10-9) and 14th ranked Kwanza (3-19) in Luanda on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Sporting L. B outscored guests from Luanda 122-85. Sporting L. B well out of reach of Kwanza shooting 92.2 percent from the field. They outrebounded Kwanza 22-3 including a 22-2 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sporting L. B shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 100.0 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of center Elvis Coche who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) (perfect from the field making all fifteen shots !!!). Guard Joao Cardoso (-2004) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Sporting L. B's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Adilson Ramos (179-1989) answered with 27 points (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!) for Kwanza. Sporting L. B have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Sporting L. B maintains seventh place with 10-9 record. Kwanza lost thirteenth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Other games in round 19 were not that significant. Interclube B smashed Vila Clotilde B on the road 96-74. Vila Clotilde destroyed Akira on its own court 85-58. ASA managed to outperform Benguela in Luanda 82-75.
The most impressive performance of 19th round was 32 points and 7 rebounds by Pascoal Konde of Benguela.

Vila Clotilde B - Interclube B 74-96

The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Interclube B's (9-11) road victory over 11th ranked Vila Clotilde B (6-14) 96-74 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for center Delcio Ndjungo who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 6 rebounds. Luis Nunes contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Herve Matubilo answered with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Antonio Rogerio added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Vila Clotilde B. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Interclube B. They moved-up to ninth place. Vila Clotilde B lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Vila Clotilde - Akira 85-58

Very expected game when 13th ranked Akira (2-19) was smashed on the road by third ranked Vila Clotilde (16-6) 85-58 on Saturday. Vila Clotilde forced 24 Akira turnovers and outrebounded them 54-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a very good performance for Custodio Germano who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds. Nelson Pellon contributed with 8 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Helio Santos answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Cesar Cacopo added 11 points and 7 assists in the effort for Akira. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Vila Clotilde. They moved-up to second place. Akira lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Benguela - ASA 75-82

Rather predictable result when eighth ranked ASA (10-11) won against on the road 12th ranked Benguela (4-15) 82-75 on Sunday. ASA dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Benguela's 28. ASA forced 19 Benguela turnovers. It was a very good performance for Ayrton Luis who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Elizeu Ventura contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Pascoal Konde (186-2000) answered with 32 points and 7 rebounds and Genilson Lucombo added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Benguela. Benguela's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for ASA. They maintain eighth place with 10-11 record. Benguela at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
