Pascoal Konde claims Angolan Division I Hoops Agents weekly honour

Pascoal Konde (186-PG-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for Clube Amigos do Basquetebol de Benguela and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 24-year old playmaker had the game-high 46 points adding six rebounds for Benguela as his team was edged out by Sporting L. B (#7, 9-8) 103-100. Benguela maintains the 12th position in Angolan Division I. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Benguela have already lost 13 games and recorded just four victories. In the team's last game Konde had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range and got seven three-pointers out of 14 attempts. He turned to be Benguela's top player in his first season with the team. Pascoal Konde averages this season 28.0ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Herve Matubilo (SG ) of FC Vila Clotilde 2nd team. Matubilo impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 20 rebounds. It was enough for Vila Clotilde B to edge slightly lower-ranked Akira (#13, 2-17) by 6 points 79-73. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Vila Clotilde B keeps 11th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-13 record. Matubilo is a newcomer at Vila Clotilde B and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was international forward Keven Albino (200-PF-1998) of Grupo Desportivo Interclube de Luanda (#10). Albino scored 16 points and grabbed 24 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Interclube, leading his team to a 103-86 easy win against the lower-ranked Kwanza (#14, 2-18). The chances of Interclube not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 11 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Albino could try to bring Interclube B's a little bit higher in the standings. Albino has a very solid season. In 3 games in Angola he scored 9.0ppg.
