Gakou's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

27-year old forward Aboubacar Gakou (201-F-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Atletico Petroleos de Luanda and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
He had a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds, while his team outclassed CPPL (#4, 9-1) with 34-point margin 104-70. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed P.Luanda to consolidate first place in the Angolan league. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and P.Luanda keeps a perfect 12-0 record. In the team's last game Gakou had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He has many years of experience at P.Luanda, through which he has constantly improved. Gakou has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.8ppg) and averages solid 70.5% FGP and 55.4% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Luis Nunes (SG ) of Grupo Desportivo Interclube de Luanda 2nd team. He is a in his first season at Interclube B. In the last game Nunes recorded an impressive 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Interclube B was edged by the higher-ranked Vila Clotilde (#6, 7-6) 72-69. Interclube B is still in a red zone at 10th spot in the standings. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Interclube B managed to get this year. Nunes is a newcomer at Interclube B and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.0ppg (#4). He also registered 8.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Emanuel Sebastiao (190-G-2001) of league's second-best Grupo Desportivo Interclube de Luanda. Sebastiao scored 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He was a key player of Interclube, leading his team to a 116-83 easy win against the lower-ranked Benguela (#11, 3-9). Interclube is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 11-2 record is not that bad... Sebastiao has a very solid season. In 12 games in Angola he scored 14.6ppg.
