Nelson Nequeta claims Angolan Division I weekly honour

Nelson Nequeta had an amazing evening in the last round for Clube Amigos do Basquetebol de Benguela and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The had a double-double of 30 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Kwanza (#13, 2-10) 114-107. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Benguela maintains the 12th position in Angolan Division I. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Benguela have already lost 8 games and recorded just two victories. In the team's last game Nequeta had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Nelson Nequeta averages this season 10.9ppg and 7.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Eliseu Joao (SF) of Desportivo 1. De Agosto Luanda. Joao impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 19 points and 17 rebounds. Of course he led 1 De Agosto to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Vila Clotilde B (#11, 3-10) 102-60. 1 De Agosto's 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 9-3 record is not bad at all. Joao is well-known by 1 De Agosto fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 9.6ppg (#2). He also registered 10.1 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Benguela's star - Pascoal Konde (186-PG-2000). Konde got into 30-points club by scoring 39 points in the last round. He went also for eight rebounds . He was another key player of Clube Amigos do Basquetebol de Benguela, helping his team with a 114-107 win against slightly lower-ranked Kwanza (#13, 2-10). Benguela can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Konde has a very solid season. In 4 games in Angola he scored 21.5ppg.
