Joel Pinto (C/F) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Desportivo 1. De Agosto Luanda and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The had a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds, while his team crushed Vila Clotilde (#6, 5-6) with 22-point margin 107-85. 1 De Agosto maintains the 4th position in Angolan Division I. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. 1 De Agosto will need more victories to improve their 6-3 record. In the team's last game Pinto had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at 1 De Agosto and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Joel Pinto averages this season 8.6ppg and 7.1rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Josue Bartolomeu (198-F-2000) of Sporting Clube de Luanda 2nd team. Bartolomeu impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 18 rebounds. Of course Sporting L. B cruised to a 83-72 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Benguela (#14, 1-3). Despite this victory Sporting L. B slide down in the standings to 5th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 5-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Bartolomeu is a newcomer at Sporting L. He was a key player of P.Luanda, leading his team to a 112-45 easy win against the lower-ranked ASA (#9, 2-5). P.Luanda have amazing season winning all 8 games without a single defeat. Gakou turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Gakou has a great season in Angola.
