Poissy lands Valdelicio Joaquim, ex Interclube

Valdelicio Joaquim

Poissy Basket Association (NM1) signed 34-year-old Angolan 208cm center Valdelicio Joaquim (college: Hawaii) for the upcoming season. Joaquim, who last played for Interclube in Angolan Division I, averaged 11.4ppg, 6.8rpg, and 1.5apg in 26 games last season. He was instrumental in helping his team reach the Angolan League final and was named League Player of the Week twice. Joaquim was also selected to the Afrobasket.com All-Angolan League Second Team. In addition to Interclube, he briefly played for Grupo Desportivo Interclube de Luanda earlier in the season.
He represented Angola at the World Cup in China five years ago. His team won Gold and he averaged nearly 12 ppg.
Joaquim is a very experienced player, thanks to pro basketball he experienced life on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Latin American, African, and of course North American leagues. Joaquim has played professionally in Argentina (Obras), France (STB Le Havre and Quimper UJAP), Angola (Atletico Petroleos de Luanda and Libolo), and Argentina.
Among many awards, he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-French ProB Honorable Mention back in 2019.
He attended a camp at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
Joaquim graduated from the University of Hawaii in 2013 and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball. He played also for Utah State University Eastern for one year.
