P.Luanda - CPPL 100-66

P.Luanda dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to CPPL's 28. They outrebounded CPPL 57-36 including a 39-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. P.Luanda players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by CPPL's players. The former international center Yanick Moreira (208-1991, college: SMU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and international swingman Gerson Goncalves (193-1996) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. At the losing side the former international Mutau Fonseca (202-1989) responded with 10 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Joao Oliveira scored 8 points and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Interclube forced 23 1 De Agosto turnovers. Strangely 1 De Agosto outrebounded Interclube 44-30 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Carlos Cabral (188-1995) who helped to win the game recording 31 points (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). Center Geovani Kibinga contributed with 20 points for the winners. The former international guard Elcane Paca (179-2001) answered with 22 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and point guard Gelson Varandas added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for 1 De Agosto. Five 1 De Agosto players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
