Macaxi Braz claims Angolan Division I weekly honour

Macaxi Braz (204-C-2001) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Desportivo 1. De Agosto Luanda and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 22-year old center had a double-double of 14 points and 21 rebounds, while his team outclassed Benguela (#10, 4-15) with 63-point margin 109-46. 1 De Agosto maintains the 2nd position in Angolan Division I. They are still close to the very top. 1 De Agosto would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 18-3 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Braz as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Braz has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 10.5rpg) and averages solid 55.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was forward Euclides Chipilika (F) of Akiras Academy Luanda. Chipilika impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led Akira to another comfortable win outscoring Kwanza (#12, 0-22) 118-78. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Akira keeps 11th position. 16 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Akira managed to get this year. Chipilika is a newcomer at Akira and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was another Akira's star - Custodio Germano (PF). Germano scored 20 points and passed 10 assists (!!!). He was another key player of Akiras Academy Luanda, helping his team with a 118-78 easy win against Kwanza (#12, 0-22). Akira can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-16 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Germano has individually a great season in Angola. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.3apg (8th best).

9. Keven Albino (200-PF-1998) of Interclube B - 3 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Ayton Luis (PG) of Kwanza - 13 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
