Center Agostinho Alberto (C-2003) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Clube Desportivo Kwanza Luanda, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 20-year old player tried to help (42 points, eight rebounds) his team in a lost game to ASA (#9, 7-13) 82-92. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Kwanza maintains the 12th position in Angolan Division I. They are still not able to win a single game in the league yet. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 19 games and recorded no victories. In the team's last game Alberto had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Kwanza's top player in his first season with the team. Agostinho Alberto averages this season 14.3ppg and 5.8rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was Obed Kinkela (SG) of Jesus Cristo Basket Luanda. Kinkela had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 18 rebounds. Of course Jesus Cristo cruised to a 92-82 relatively comfortable win over Kwanza (#12, 0-19). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Jesus Cristo keeps 9th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-13 record. Kinkela is a newcomer at Jesus Cristo, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was international forward Aboubacar Gakou (201-F-1997) of league's top team Atletico Petroleos de Luanda. Gakou scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of P.Luanda, leading his team to a 100-62 easy win against #4 ranked CPPL in a game of the week. Many experts and fans count P.Luanda as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 18 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Gakou has a great season in Angola. After 19 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.6ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 10.5rpg (2nd best). He also has a FGP of 71.2% and 3PT: 51.2%.

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
