Simao's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

Eduardo Simao

19-year old Eduardo Simao (2004) put on an amazing game in the last round for Atletico Petroleos de Luanda 2nd team and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
He had a double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds, while his team edged out Jesus Cristo (#6, 8-9) 89-87. P.Luanda B maintains the 7th position in Angolan league. P.Luanda B is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-10 record. In the team's last game Simao had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be P.Luanda B's top player in his first season with the team. Simao has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (8th best: 15.7ppg), assists (6th best: 2.9apg) and averages solid 63.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Tarcio Domingos (194-PG-1998) of Casa do Pessoal do Porto de Luanda. He is international guard in his first season at CPPL. In the last game Domingos recorded an impressive 25 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led CPPL to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Benguela (#10, 3-11) 105-54. This victory allowed CPPL to move up to 4th position in the standings. His team's 12-5 record is not bad at all. Domingos is a newcomer at CPPL and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Valdelicio Joaquim (208-C-1990) of Grupo Desportivo Interclube de Luanda (#3). Joaquim scored 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Interclube, leading his team to a 100-85 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Vila Clotilde (#5, 12-6). Interclube needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 5 lost games. Joaquim has a great season in Angola. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.1ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 7.9rpg (#1 in league). He also has a FGP of 52.3% and 3PT: 51.2%. Joaquim attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
