Round 17 most important game was a victory of Interclube over 3rd placed Vila Clotilde 100-85 on Saturday night. Interclube outrebounded Vila Clotilde 41-28 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international center Valdelicio Joaquim (208-1990, college: Hawaii) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. The former international guard Carlos Cabral (188-1995) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Valdemar Avelino (176-2003) answered with 17 points for Vila Clotilde. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Interclube (13-5) moved-up to third place. Vila Clotilde at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Interclube are looking forward to face Jesus Cristo (#6) in the next round. Vila Clotilde will play against the league's second-placed 1 De Agosto in Luanda and is hoping to win this game.

Forward Joseney Joaquim (200-1992) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. P.Luanda B maintains seventh place with 8-10 record. Jesus Cristo at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. P.Luanda B will play against Akira (#11) in the next round. Jesus Cristo will play against Interclube (#3) in Luanda and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between 10th ranked Benguela (3-11) and fifth ranked CPPL (12-5) in on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from outscored Benguela 105-54. Antonio Ndabililwa nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side. Elvis Coche came up with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for Benguela in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CPPL have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Benguela lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. CPPL will meet at home league's leader P.Luanda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Benguela will play against Interclube B (#8) in Luanda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked ASA (5-13) beat on the road 11th ranked Akira (2-13) 94-86 on Saturday. ASA looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Egidio Ventura (-1990) nailed 22 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and Ludgerio Galiza accounted for 19 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Custodio Germano came up with 19 points and 6 assists and Aristue Dala added 20 points respectively for Akira in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Akira's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. ASA have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain ninth place with 5-13 record. Akira lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. ASA's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Luanda Kwanza.
