International Forward Aboubacar Gakou (201-F-1997) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Atletico Petroleos de Luanda and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 26-year old forward had a double-double of 36 points and twelve rebounds, while his team outclassed Benguela (#9, 3-7) with 79-point margin 130-51. It allowed P.Luanda to consolidate first place in the Angolan Division I. P.Luanda has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 10-1. In the team's last game Gakou had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He has many years of experience at P.Luanda, through which he has constantly improved. Gakou has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 17.4ppg) and averages solid 72.9% FGP and 54.3% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another P.Luanda's star - young international shooting guard Keneth Gouveia (198-SG-1999). Gouveia impressed basketball fans with 33 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course together with Gakou he helped Atletico Petroleos de Luanda with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Benguela (#9, 3-7) 130-51. Of course P.Luanda still keep the league's top spot. His team belongs to top of the standings with 10-1 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Gouveia is a newcomer at P.Luanda and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was another P.Luanda's star - international center Yanick Moreira (208-C-1991). Moreira showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, fourteen rebounds (!!!) and seven assists in the last round. He was another key player of Atletico Petroleos de Luanda, helping his team with a 130-51 easy win against the lower-ranked Benguela (#9, 3-7). Many experts and fans count P.Luanda as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 10 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Moreira has a very solid season. In 6 games in Angola he scored 10.8ppg. He also has 7.7rpg, 3.5apg and FGP: 53.2%.
