Former international Center Valdelicio Joaquim (208-C-1990) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Grupo Desportivo Interclube de Luanda, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 33-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds, while his team beat P.Luanda B (#8, 3-6) 86-77. Interclube is placed at 2nd position in Angolan Division I. They are still close to the very top. Interclube would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 8-2 record. Joaquim turned to be Interclube's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Hawaii star has very solid stats this year. Joaquim is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 8.5rpg) and averages impressive 52.1% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line. Worth to mention Joaquim played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was young Antonio Dinis (200-F-2000) of Atletico Sport Aviation Luanda. Dinis had a very good evening with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as ASA was edged by slightly higher-ranked Benguela (#9, 3-6) 89-86. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. ASA keeps 10th position. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories ASA managed to get this year. Dinis is a newcomer at ASA, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was international forward Aboubacar Gakou (201-F-1997) of league's top team Atletico Petroleos de Luanda. Gakou scored 22 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of P.Luanda, leading his team to a 93-71 easy win against the lower-ranked ASA (#10, 2-8). Many experts and fans count P.Luanda as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 9 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Gakou has a great season in Angola. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.5ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 11.5rpg (#1 in league). He also has FGP: 72.5% and 3PT: 50.0%.
