26-year old forward Aboubacar Gakou (201-F-1997) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Atletico Petroleos de Luanda and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 20 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Kwanza (#12, 0-9) with 90-point margin 151-61. It allowed P.Luanda to consolidate first place in the Angolan league. P.Luanda has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 9-1. In the team's last game Gakou had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He has many years of experience at P.Luanda, through which he has constantly improved. Gakou has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 15.5ppg) and averages solid 72.5% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Antonio Dinis (200-F-2000) of Atletico Sport Aviation Luanda. He is a forward in his first season at ASA. In the last game Dinis recorded impressive double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as ASA lost that game 81-96 to slightly higher-ranked P.Luanda B (#8, 3-6). ASA is still second from the bottom in the standings. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories ASA managed to get this year. Dinis is a newcomer at ASA and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another P.Luanda's star - center Joao Aldemiro (207-C-1993). Aldemiro scored 21 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Atletico Petroleos de Luanda, helping his team with a 151-61 easy win against Kwanza (#12, 0-9). Many experts and fans count P.Luanda as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 9 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Aldemiro has a very solid season. In 9 games in Angola he scored 4.4ppg. He also has 4.1rpg and FGP: 72.0%.
