Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Angolans who are currently playing abroad.
#1. This week's number one is former international center
Bruno Fernando (208-1998, college:
Maryland, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the
Houston Rockets (0-3) to beat the Atlanta Hawks (2-1).
Fernando scored 7 points, grabbed 9 boards, handed out 7 passes and blocked 2 shots in 26 minutes on the court.
The Houston Rockets (0-3) lost
107-117 on the road to the Hawks.
So far Rockets lost all three games in the Regular Season.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
This year Fernando averages: 5.5ppg, 6.5rpg, 4.5apg, 2FGP: 83.3% in two games he played so far.
He played for the Angolan senior national team year ago.
#2. Second place goes to former international forward
Julio De Assis (203-1992, currently plays in Iceland). De Assis was not able to help
Breidablik in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance Breidablik was defeated
99-90 in Reykjavik by the lower-ranked Valur (#5).
De Assis scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
De Assis has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 16.3ppg, 7.3rpg, 2.3apg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 63.2%(12-19), 3FGP: 27.3% and FT: 63.6%.
De Assis has a dual citizenship: Angolan and Spanish.
He played for the Angolan national team in 18.
#3. The Angolan player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international power forward
Antonio Monteiro (204-1989, currently plays in Portugal). Monteiro led
Sporting to a victory against the ninth-ranked Esgueira (2-4)
92-78 in the Portuguese Liga Betclic on Saturday night.
He scored 11 points in a mere 15 minutes.
Sporting Clube de Portugal Lisboa (4-0) is placed fourth in the Liga Betclic.
So far his team won all four games in the Regular Season.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
Monteiro has relatively good stats this year: 10.3ppg, 2.7rpg and FT: 77.8% in three games.
He is another player who holds two passports: Angolan and Portuguese.
Despite Monteiro played previously for the Portuguese U20 national team, he played also for the Angolan national team in 22.
#4. Forward
Joao Fernandes (198-1992, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Antonio Monteiro. But that was another game of his team in FIBA Europe Cup which we would like to mention.
Fernandes contributed to a 1-point
Sporting's victory against the closely-ranked Kormend (0-2)
99-98.
He scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Sporting Clube de Portugal Lisboa (1-1) is placed third in the FIBA Europe Cup.
Fernandes' overall stats this season are: 7.0ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.5apg.
He has both Angolan and Portuguese nationalities.

#5. Former international center
Yanick Moreira (208-1991, agency:
BeoBasket, college:
SMU, currently plays in Greece) was the major contributor in a 2-point
Kolossos HH's victory against the closely-ranked Promitheas
69-67 in the Greek GBL last Saturday.
He had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 11 rebounds in 29 minutes.
Kolossos H Hotels Rodou (1-2) is placed second from the bottom (#11) in the GBL.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
This year Moreira has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg and 7.0rpg in three games.
He used to play for the Angolan national team

#6. Forward
Silvio de Sousa (206-1998, college:
Chattanooga, currently plays in France) contributed to a
Chorale de Roanne's victory against the seventh-ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (3-3)
89-83 in the French Betclic ELITE ProA on Sunday night.
de Sousa scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
Chorale de Roanne Basket (5-0) is placed first in the Betclic ELITE ProA.
So far his team won all five games in the Regular Season.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
de Sousa's overall stats this season are: 9.4ppg and 5.8rpg.
He is a former international player as he played for the Angolan senior team year ago.
#7. Former international center
Jilson Bango (208-1999, currently plays in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for
Braunschweig (2-1) in their last game. Despite Bango's good performance Braunschweig lost
95-110 in Rostock to the second-ranked Seawolves.
He recorded 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in a mere 16 minutes.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Bango has reliable stats this year: 11.3ppg and 8.3rpg in four games.
He used to play for the Angolan national team

#8. Guard
Jaques Conceicao (190-1989, currently plays in Portugal) managed to help Imortal Luzigas Albufeira to win against one of league's weakest teams Sangalhos (0-5)
80-61 in the Portuguese Liga Betclic in Saturday night's game.
He scored only 2 points and added 3 passes.
Imortal Luzigas Albufeirais placed fifth in the Liga Betclic.
Conceicao's overall stats this season are: 2.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 2.6apg.
He used to play for the Angolan national team
back in 21.
#9. Former international point guard
Jose Maconda (187-2001, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help
Iraurgi SB (0-4) in their game against Almansa (2-2) in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division).
Maconda recorded 9 points in 21 minutes.
But Iraurgi SB was badly defeated
80-61 on the opponent's court by the much higher-ranked (#9) Almansa.
So far Iraurgi SB lost all four games in the Regular Season.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
This year Maconda's overall stats are: 6.3ppg and 2.7apg in three games.
Despite he played previously for the Dutch U18 national team, Maconda is currently in the Angolan national team roster.
#10. Forward
Melvyn Da Silva (198-1999, agency:
Areus Sports, currently plays in France) couldn't help
Kaysersberg (1-5) in their game against Besancon (3-3) in the French NM1 (third division).
He scored 5 points.
The 13th-placed Kaysersberg (1-5) was badly defeated
92-76 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Besancon (#7) in the Group B.
It was Kaysersberg's fourth consecutive loss in a row.

The list of other players, who all have Angolan passport but never been selected to any of Angolan national teams: #1. Armando Francisco (186-F-1997, currently plays in Portugal) could not help
Electrico FC (1-1) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Francisco's good performance the fourth-placed Electrico FC (1-1) was crushed
79-51 at home by the second-ranked Galomar in the North group.
He was the top scorer with 14 points. Francisco also added 4 rebounds.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Francisco's overall stats this season are: 9.5ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.5apg and 2.0spg.
#2. Fredileny Muachifi (F-2000, currently plays in Portugal) is a teammate of previously mentioned Armando Francisco and both played together in the last Portuguese Proliga game.
Muachifi was not able to help
Electrico FC in their game against Galomar (2-0).
He scored 5 points in 26 minutes.
The fourth-placed Electrico FC (1-1) was crushed
79-51 on their home court in Ponte de Sor by the second-ranked Galomar in the North group.
This year Muachifi's overall stats are: 6.5ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.0spg in two games he played so far.
