Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Angolans who are currently playing abroad.
#1. This week's number one is former international forward
Silvio de Sousa (206-1998, college:
Chattanooga, currently plays in France). He could not help
Chorale de Roanne (5-0) in their last game. Despite de Sousa's good performance the league leader Chorale de Roanne lost
81-85 on the road to the much lower-ranked (#8) JSF Nanterre.
He scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 20 minutes on the court.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
This year de Sousa averages: 9.3ppg, 5.8rpg, 2FGP: 60.9%(14-23) and FT: 75.0% in four games he played so far.
He played for the Angolan senior national team year ago.
#2. Second place goes to former international forward
Joao Fernandes (198-1992, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup). Fernandes was not able to help
Sporting (0-1) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his good performance Sporting was crushed
113-89 at home by the leading Anwil.
Fernandes recorded 10 points and added 4 assists.
Fernandes' overall stats this season are: 6.3ppg, 1.7rpg, 2.0apg, 2FGP: 85.7%.
He has a dual citizenship: Angolan and Portuguese.
Fernandes played for the Angolan national team in 22.
#3. The Angolan player who performed third best last week abroad was former international forward
Julio De Assis (203-1992, currently plays in Iceland). He led
Breidablik to an overtime victory against one of league's weakest teams KR (0-2)
136-133 in the Icelandic Subway League on Thursday night.
De Assis scored 12 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and made 3 blocks in 32 minutes.
Breidablik Kopavogur (2-0) is placed first in the Subway League.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
De Assis has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.5ppg, 6.5rpg, 2.5apg, 1.5bpg, 2FGP: 66.7%, 3FGP: 21.4% in two games.
De Assis is another player who holds two passports: Angolan and Spanish.
He played for the Angolan national team year ago.
#4. Center
Jilson Bango (208-1999, currently plays in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for
Braunschweig (2-0) in their game against EnBW Ludwigsburg (2-1) in the German BBL. Despite his good performance in Sunday night's game Bango scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Bango has relatively good stats this season: 13.0ppg and 8.0rpg.
He used to play for the Angolan national team
back in 22.
#5. An experienced former international power forward
Antonio Monteiro (204-1989, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Joao Fernandes and both played together in the last FIBA Europe Cup game.
Monteiro couldn't help
Sporting (0-1) in their game against Anwil (1-0).
He recorded 6 points in 20 minutes.
Sporting was crushed
113-89 on their home court in Lisbon by the leading Anwil.
This year Monteiro's overall stats are: 8.3ppg and 4.0rpg in three games.
He has both Angolan and Portuguese nationalities.
Despite Monteiro played previously for the Portuguese U20 national team, he is currently in the Angolan national team roster.
#6. Center
Yanick Moreira (208-1991, agency:
BeoBasket, college:
SMU, currently plays in Greece) couldn't help
Kolossos HH (0-2) in their game against Karditsas (1-1) in the Greek GBL.
Moreira recorded only 4 points.
Kolossos HH was edged
59-57 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Karditsas (#7).
The Regular Season already ended.
This season Moreira has relatively solid stats: 10.5ppg and 5.0rpg.
He is a former international player as he played for the Angolan senior team year ago.
#7. Former international guard
Jaques Conceicao (190-1989, currently plays in Portugal) managed to help Imortal Luzigas Albufeira in a victory against the tenth-ranked CAB Madeira (1-4) crushing them
85-64 in the Portuguese Liga Betclic on Saturday night.
Conceicao scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 20 minutes.
Imortal Luzigas Albufeirais placed fifth in the Liga Betclic.
This year Conceicao's total stats are: 2.0ppg, 3.5rpg and 2.5apg in four games.

#8. Point guard
Jose Maconda (187-2001, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help
Iraurgi SB (0-3) in their game against Valladolid (2-1) in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division).
Maconda scored only 4 points and added 4 assists.
Iraurgi SB was defeated
78-68 on their home court in Azpeitia by the second-ranked Valladolid.
So far Iraurgi SB lost all three games in the Regular Season.

Melvyn Da Silva (198-1999, agency:

Kaysersberg (1-4) in their game against Orchesien BC (4-1) in the French NM1 (third division).
Da Silva recorded 8 points and added 3 passes in 33 minutes.
The 12th-placed Kaysersberg (1-4) lost
96-105 in Orchies to the much higher-ranked (#5) Orchesien BC in the Group B.
It was Kaysersberg's third consecutive loss in a row.

The list of other players, who all have Angolan passport but never been selected to any of Angolan national teams: #1. Fredileny Muachifi (F-2000, currently plays in Portugal) contributed to a
Electrico FC's victory against the fifth-ranked Academica (0-1)
56-50 in the Portuguese Proliga (second division) in Saturday night's game.
Muachifi recorded 8 points in 27 minutes. It was his first game for Electrico FC this season.
His team is placed first in North group.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
#2. Armando Francisco (186-F-1997, currently plays in Portugal) is a teammate of previously mentioned Fredileny Muachifi and both played together in the last Portuguese Proliga game.
Francisco managed to help Electrico FC to win against the fifth-ranked Academica (0-1)
56-50.
He recorded 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. It was his first game for Electrico FC this season.
#3. Fabio Galiano (202-PF-1997, currently plays in Germany). Galiano could not help
Herford (0-3) to beat Vechta-2 (2-1).
He scored only 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
Herford (#13) was badly defeated
76-60 at home by the much higher-ranked Vechta-2 (#5) in the North group.
So far Herford lost all three games in the Regular Season.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Galiano has averaged so far 2.0ppg and 3.5rpg.
