Castello keeps Afonso for another season

Fustecma Nou Basquet Castello (LF2) re-signed 29-year old Angolan-Portuguese 175cm power forward Artemis Afonso for upcoming season. Afonso played there last season. In 25 LF2 games she averaged 8.2ppg, 6.9rpg, 1.6apg and 1.0spg. She helped them to make it to the Spanish LF2 Playoffs final after they ended regular season as second best team.
The previous (2020-21) season she was tested by Agrupacion Deportiva Bto Aviles.
Afonso also represented Angola at the African Championship in Yaounde (Cameroon) seven years ago. Afonso's team got to the Semifinals and her stats at that event were 4 games: 3.5ppg.
She has played also professionally for other Portuguese teams like Olivais, Alges, Quinta Lombos and Carnide.
Among many awards she received Eurobasket.com All-Portuguese League Improved Player of the Year award back in 2014.
